AU Women’s Track Sets Three School Records In Day Two Of PBC Finals

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Augusta University women's outdoor track and field team concluded another successful day at the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Friday afternoon. The Jaguars wrapped up day two at the Dick & Lenore Taylor Track.



Day two began with junior Kiana Kelly taking second in the heptathlon. Kelly won the shot put event in the process with a toss of 10.21 meters.


The Jags would go on to break several school records as well. Freshman Alyisha Anderson set a new record for triple jump with a distance of 11.08 meters, taking ninth in the process.  She was followed by Kelly in 11th with 10.85 meters. Senior Holly Ebbets broke the record in pole vault with a height of 3.30 meters, finishing fifth in the event. Lastly, the 4x100 team of junior Morgan Mitchell, Alyisha Anderson, junior Susan Obi, and sophomore Edrei Yates took fifth and set the new record at 48.59.


In the 3000 meter steeplechase, senior Diana Petrmichlova snagged third with a time of 11:49.02. Behind her finished senior Amber Palermo in seventh with a time of 12:01.39 and sophomore Rachel Hammesfahr took 11th in 13:14.73.


Sophomore JaNae Marzell wrapped up the day by taking third in the discus throw with a toss of 38.09 meters. With the championship concluding on Saturday, the Jags will be looking to put climb the leaderboard with the last day of events.
