Jags Women Finish Fourth At Inaugural UNCP Braves Track Classic

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Augusta University women's outdoor track and field team competed in the inaugural UNC Pembroke Braves Track Classic and finished fourth out of seven teams on Friday in Pembroke, N.C.

RESULTS

Hosted by UNC Pembroke in Pembroke, North Carolina. Augusta came in fourth place while UNCP won on their home track. Coker took third, Pfeiffer fourth, and Methodist rounded out the top five.

Augusta performed strongly in the 4x400 meter relay, coming in second place. Heather Hammett, Dejah Johnson, Morgan Mitchell, and Aaliyah Pettway made up the relay for the Jaguars. Individually, Hammett finished second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.12 and a first place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.98.

Dejah Johnson followed up her relay performance with a first place showing in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.08.

Augusta's Kiana Kelly placed fourth in both the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.54 and the javelin throw with a distance of 29.83 meters. Kindall Weems nothced fourth in the discus with a distance of 25.51 meters and sixth in the shot put with a distance of 7.73 meters.

Macy Hayes took home a third place in the high jump at 1.57 meters and Jenna Foster earned ninth in the javelin throw with a distance of 15.40 meters.

The Jags travel to the Emory Invitational March 18-19 in Atlanta, Ga., for their third meet of the season.
