Men's Tennis Ranked 21st In Nation

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The GRU Augusta men's tennis team is ranked 21st in the nation according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations' most recent national rankings list that was released Monday, Nov. 10. GRU senior Romain Ferreira was named the 20th best player in the nation out of 50, according to the ITA for singles play.

The Jaguars are one of 10 Peach Belt Conference schools ranked on the list of 50 institutions. Armstrong is ranked fifth, Columbus State sixth, lander eighth, GRU 21st, Georgia College 22nd, Flagler 26th, Francis Marion 29th, USC Aiken 31st, North Georgia 32nd, and Young Harris 33rd.

Ferreira went 12 -9 overall in singles play, going 8-6 in the second slot and 4-3 in the No. 1 spot. He ended the season on a 3-1 run and posted an 18-10 record at No. 2 doubles with teammate Romain Brunie (second most doubles wins on team). Ferreira went 5-3 against Peach Belt opponents in doubles and helped the Jaguars reach the national ranks for another year.
