Five Jags Score Double Figures In 79-55 Win At Lander

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Augusta University men's basketball team played the Lander Bearcats on the road in a Peach Belt Conference contest on Saturday afternoon and won 79-55 for their third victory in a row. The Jaguars never trailed in the game.


The PBC game pushed Augusta to 11-8 overall and 8-5 in the PBC, while Lander moved to 7-12 and 3-10 in the league.

Senior Tamyrik Fields led AU offensively with 16 points and eight rebounds, junior Aaron Byrd notched 14 points, junior Deane Williams 12, junior Tyvez Monroe 11, and sophomore Mikkel Kolstad 10.


The Jags outrebounded Lander by two and only had seven turnovers to LU's 13. Augusta scored 19 points off Bearcat turnovers and led by as much as 28 in the game.


AU hosts Flagler College on Wednesday, Jan. 31 for a 7:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference game in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
