Jags To Host Fourth Annual Education Day Game Dec. 19

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's basketball team hosts the fourth annual Education Day Game on Tuesday, Dec. 19 with over 2,000 fifth graders from Richmond County for a special 11:00 a.m. tipoff in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jags play a Peach Belt Conference game against the North Georgia Nighthawks and the women's game follows at 1:00 p.m.  



"Education Day has become an event that Richmond County Schools, Augusta University, and our men's basketball program anxiously await each year," head coach Dip Metress said. "The collaboration between all entities enables memories to be created that could have a lasting impact on people's future endeavors."


The men's game tips off at 11:00 a.m. and the women follow at 1:00 p.m. for the conference doubleheader. Admission is free to all.


Over 2,000 fifth graders from the Richmond County school system be in attendance as part of the annual holiday outing. There will be halftime entertainment from the Jumping Jags – a local youth jump roping group from Grovetown Elementary School. Santa and his elves will also make an appearance!
