Volleyball Hosts PBC Matches, 2015 Senior Day Nov. 6 & 7

Jags host Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's volleyball team hosts the UNC Pembroke Braves this Friday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m. and the 2015 Senior Day celebration will take place this Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2:00 p.m. when Augusta takes on the Francis Marion Patriots in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Seniors Katie Beresford, Kailla Baptiste, and Alyssa Latham are being recognized for the contributions to the program throughout their careers in Augusta. All three seniors have been pivotal in the Jaguars' success and all three helped guide the Jaguars to their best season in program history last year in 2014.

A pre-match ceremony will place on Saturday prior to the first serve between the Jaguars and FMU Patriots.

Meet the seniors …

Katie Beresford, 2012-2015

Katie, a four-year starter from Fishers, Indiana, started in 35 matches in her first two seasons. As a freshman she ranked first in solo blocks and she carded 67 kills as a sophomore. Beresford started all 36 matches as a junior and ranked second in the Peach Belt in blocks while pacing Augusta. So far in her senior campaign, Katie has posted 82 kills, 22 blocks in her 18 matches played.

Kailla Baptiste, 2012-2015

A four-year player from Bloomington, Ill., Kailla Baptiste has been a valuable utility player since 2012. Baptiste recorded 150 kills as a sophomore and 196 as a junior to help pace the Jaguar offense into the postseason. So far this season, Baptiste has played in 21 matches and carded seven multi-kill nights – averaging 2.78 kills per set.

Alyssa Latham, 2014-2015

A two-year starting setter who carried the Jaguars to their first postseason victory last season, Alyssa joined the Jags in 2014 after a two-year stint at the State College of Florida. She led Augusta and ranked eighth in the PBC with 979 assists as a junior. This year as a senior, Latham was leading the entire league in assists and assists per set before being briefly sidelined by injury. She currently ranks second in the league in assists per set and is fifth in total assists.
