Jaguars win non-conference match on the road Saturday night
AUGUSTA, Ga. – After hosting the USC Aiken Pacers for the Pink Out match earlier in the day, the Jaguars traveled across town to Paine College and won a non-conference match in The HEAL Complex in three straight sets.
The Jags (14-9, 5-7 PBC) snapped a three-match losing streak with the win over the Paine Lions where Augusta posted a .460 attack percentage and held the Lions to a .134 mark. Six service aces sparked the Jaguar offense and Rachel Windle's 14 kills and Kali Boatwright's 12 anchored the scoring.
A 25-15 set-one win was the closest meeting of the night, with the Jaguars taking set two 25-11 and the final set three 25-10 for the win. Paine took a slight lead in set one and once in set three, but Augusta remained on top for the majority of the contest.
Augusta plays on the road for three-straight matches, starting with a trip to Columbus State on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
