The Jaguars (13-7, 5-5 PBC) met the Lander Bearcats (18-8, 6-4 PBC) for the second time this season and dropped the match in three-straight sets.

Sophomore Kali Boatwright posted 13 kills to lead the Jags and added 15 digs. Senior Kailla Baptiste provided 12 kills and Cat DeSilvester had 15 digs. Sadie Thurston provided 36 assists and 13 digs to help the offense.

Lander had 15 team blocks in the match and held the Jags to four. Augusta had a .101 attack percentage and LU posted a .200.

LU scored the opening two points of match, but Jordan Bucket put the Jags on the board with a cross-court kill to the right side. The Jags trailed the entire first set and went down 25-19 on an attack error. Augusta was plagued by seven attack errors, while Lander only recorded one.

Bickett produced the first Augusta point again in set two, but five consecutive errors on the Jags allowed LU back in and take large lead. Down 19-12, the Jags rallied for seven-straight points and eventually tied the set 25-25 and took the set into extra points. The Jags dropped the next two points to fall 27-25, spoiled by LU's seven blocks in the second set.

Another Bearcat block started the third set and the Jags trailed for the remainder of the set. The Jags rallied to make it 21-16 and Lander called a timeout to slow the Augusta momentum. It wasn't enough as the Jags fell 25-21 in the final set to drop the match.

The Jags host their annual Pink Out game to raise awareness and support for the Cancer Center on Saturday, Oct. 24 against rival USC Aiken at 2:00 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse. All proceeds and donations will be given to the university Cancer Center. Fans are encouraged to wear pink!
