Augusta Men’s Golf Gains Four Freshmen In Early Signing Period
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University Director of Golf and head men’s golf coach Jack O’Keefe announced the program’s four-member early signing class for the 2017-18 season. The Jaguars gained a quartet of freshmen in Olof Gunnarsson, Laken Hinton, Alex Shead, and Constantin Unger. All four signed National Letters (NLI) of Intent during the early signing period and are set to join the team next season.

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Former Augusta Jaguar All-American Henrik Norlander tied for second on Monday morning in a sudden death playoff in The RSM Classic at Sea island Golf Club. The second place finish for Norlander is the best of his PGA Tour career.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Georgia State men’s golf team will host a field of 16 teams Sept. 23-25 for the inaugural Maui Jim Invitational in Scottsdale, Ariz., beginning on Friday. The Augusta University men’s golf team joins some of the top teams from around the country to play Mirabel Golf Club Friday-Sunday in a 54-hole event.

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Jaguar senior Jake Marriott started the 2016-17 season with a first-place victory in The Invitational at The Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. The Jaguars finished tied for fifth one-under par in the two-day event on The Ocean Course, one of five historic courses at Kiawah Resort for College of Charleston’s home event.

JP van der Walt named Assistant Coach For Augusta University Golf
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University announced JP van der Walt as the new assistant coach for the women’s and men’s golf programs on Wednesday afternoon. JP van der Walt, from Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, comes from a golf family with ties to the PGA Tour and has experience coaching in the NCAA.

Patrick Reed Grabs Fifth Win On PGA Tour
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Augusta Jaguar All-American Patrick Reed won the fifth PGA Tour event of his professional career on Sunday afternoon with a victory in The Barclays at Bethpage State Park on Sunday. Reed held off the rest of the field on the Black Course in the final round and ended the 72-hole event with a 275 (-9).

Patrick Reed Becomes First Jaguar To Qualify For Olympic Games
AUGUSTA, Ga. – He won back-to-back National Championships and was named an All-American twice. Now former men’s golf star Patrick Reed will compete for Team USA in the 2016 Rio Olympics for golf’s return to the Summer Games. Reed becomes the first student-athlete for the Augusta Jaguars to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Europe Reclaims Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club
FORMBY, England – Augusta University men’s golf senior Robin Petersson and Team Europe defeated the United States, 18.5-11.5, to reclaim the Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club. Team Europe bettered Team USA for the second straight day in singles, 5.5-4.5. The United States now leads the all-time series 10-9-1.
